June is the starting point to the beginning of summer. School is out, all the kids are home, flowers are blooming, trees are green and we're almost past all the ravaging storms and this month is starting to look a little more rejuvenating and fun. Now lets see if we can find a easy way to now banish all the blahs from April & May.
First be nice. "Surprisingly, a lot of joy doesn't come from doing things for ourselves, but rather for others".
Clock it. Time is rare, so it's the best thing we can offer. Do something from back in the day and help a busy relative or friend with some chores or help out with their kids for a little while to give them just a moment to "exhale"!
Talk to strangers. Compliment the woman behind you in the grocery store line about something you see nice on her, say some earrings, outfit, shoes you get the point. Our days are full of distractions, so it can be a real "picker upper" for someone to hear a kind word.
Make a note. Write a thank you note to your significant other. Let them know how much you appreciate them and all they do. If your love one is like mine and their job keeps them away, then text, email, Facebook or Twitter something to make their day a little brighter!
Write on. Keep in a journal how great doing a favor made you feel. Cherishing the good things that have happened brings them back to you and increases your happiness. When you're on a high, you're more likely to do unto others - and the "good Samaritan cycle continues on"!
